Resilience Ranch is a 36-acre property located 5 miles south of Marion, NC, in the Sugar Hill-Montford Cove community. The Sugar Hill Agricultural District offers a wealth of local small businesses like Wild East Farms, Purple Buffalo, Little River Acres, Pa’s Holler Farm, and Sugar Hill Farms – our immediate neighbors! From eggs to pork and from microgreens to blueberries, our community offers fresh, local, organic produce.
As of May 2026, Resilience Ranch is in its infancy as a new mixed-use property – with plans for residential (we live on-site), commercial, agricultural, and forestry conservation efforts over the coming decade. Working closely with the City of Marion, McDowell and Rutherford Counties, our local community colleges (McDowell Technical and Isothermal), our neighbors, and our small business partners – we are creating a property where resilience is our mission.
Resilience has many definitions – but for our Ranch – we define resilience as the “ability to bounce back better”. It is our belief that, to be resilient, there are four pillars of wellness that must be in place: Mental, Physical, Spiritual, and Financial.
Mental: Continuous learning is imperative.
Physical: Our bodies must be healthy to thrive.
Spiritual: Peace of mind removes barriers to progress.
Financial: Stability starts with basic needs met.
Throughout our property, we support these pillars through our development and our collaborations with North Carolina businesses and non-profits.
What Makes Us Unique
- Proceeds from our property are re-invested directly into the community. While we
are a for-profit entity, our annual goal is to provide over 50% of our profits to
benefit others.
- We are home to the GOAT Collaborative, a 501(c)3 non-profit entity founded in
2023 that serves the community through educational programs related to our
pillars of wellness
